New connection questions, answered
For small residential or commercial loads (Category 1, up to 15kW), the process typically takes a few weeks from application to installation, depending on document verification, demand notice payment, and equipment availability. Larger loads requiring higher approval levels can take longer.
Tenants must additionally upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the property owner along with the owner's CNIC (front and back). The rest of the application process is the same as for owners.
A Demand Notice is a payment voucher issued after your application is verified and approved. It lists your connection charges and security deposit, and must be paid at a designated bank before installation proceeds.
Yes. You can apply entirely online through the ENC Portal or MEPCO Smart App by uploading scanned documents. Some offices may still ask you to submit a printed copy of your application for their records.
Use the Tracking ID (Application Reference Number) issued when you submitted your application, along with your CNIC, to check your status on the ENC Portal at any time.
Connection charges vary by category and area. Your exact Demand Notice amount depends on load requirement, urban/rural location, and infrastructure needs — this is calculated by MEPCO at the survey stage, not a fixed published number.
