MEPCO Is one of the biggest Distribution Companies of Electricity in the Public Sector, serving more than 07 million consumers and having 15000+ employees with an annual turnover of approximately Rs. 300 Billion and consisting of the operational area covering 13 districts of Southern Punjab. The Charter of MEPCO is to provide a reliable and safe Electric Power Supply to Its consumers in Its jurisdiction. The services of dynamic and high caliber professional candidates (Male/Female) from all over Pakistan for the following post are required on the following Terms & Conditions:
Position
Chief Health, Safety and Environment Officer on 03 years contract basis (extendable on satisfactory performance)
Qualification & Experience
Maximum 65 years on the closing date.
Salary
Market-based competitive Package
- Minimum BS/BSc Engineering / BSc HSE degree recognized by (HEC) with 15 years of overall work experience, including at least five years in a senior leadership role and at least five years in HSE in a well-known company, including at least three years in HSE leadership role.
- Preference will be given to the incumbents having MS / MSc degrees.
- ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor or NEBOSMOSH certification or any other Certification of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) shall be considered as an additional qualification.
- Power Utility Organization experience will be an added advantage.
Job Profile
Chief (HSE) Officer shall implement and maintain Health, Safety & Environmental program involving hazard identification evaluation and control accident/injury prevention, hazardous material/waste management, emergency preparedness, fire safety and environmental regulatory compliances:
- Provide HSE leadership, training and operational support to all levels of the MEPCO organizations.
- Put in place an effective HSE Management System and ensure all HSE processes and procedures are implemented.
- Inculcate a culture of safety amongst the employees of MEPCO, especially the field workforce.
- Track and evaluate HSE data to identify and reduce risk as well as update processes.
- Work closely with the Operations, Maintenance and Construction department of MEPCO to implement HSE processes.
- Conduct HSE/safety audit regularly and ensure implementation of remedial measures.
- Monitor and ensure effective and timely provision of redressal to HSE/Safety related complainants.
- Conduct and oversee all aspects of incident investigation, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain a record of all accidents, safety lapses and safety promotional activities related to details of each segment of the Company as well as related individuals and provide input for performance appraisal.
- Formulate and implement an effective fire prevention system • Put in place a robust system to ensure adherence to Environmental Laws and regulations.
- Ensure emergency response system to manage HSE-related emergencies.
- Ensure compliances with all national, provincial and NEPRA codes related to HSE
- Organize all necessary training and licensing requirements.
- Any other relevant duties assigned.
REPORTING CHANNEL
Chief (HSE) Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer MEPCO.
